The members of the Editorial Committee supervise the journal's peer review process, including the evaluation of submissions, the selection of reviewers and the evaluation of their comments and the making of editorial decisions. Together with the Members of the Editorial Advisory Council, they participate in the development of the journal's policies and ethical standards and work to promote the mission of the Journal of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Guatemala, to provide resources, support and advice to early-stage researchers on their journey from writing to publishing their scientific papers. At the same time, free public access to scientific research is made.
